If you think you know of a great wing place in Costa Rica I will bet that Jolly Roger is better. A few months ago our Dominical friends introduced us to this out of the way place. Jolly Roger is located between Dominical and Uvita right off the main highway on the left heading south. There are a few tricky things about Jolly Roger. First, please call before you go(8706-8438). As they are open every day during the summer, times vary during low season. Second, it is best bringing a four wheel drive to get there. The road is very long and very steep. Do not try walking up the hill. It is just too far. Last, cash only. Believe me it is worth going. They have at least 21 flavors for the wings along with great burgers, pizzas, salads, and all beverages. There is live music on Wed. nights and you better arrive early. Back to the wings. Jolly Roger wings are out of this world. I have tried 8 flavors so far and my 2 top favorites are spicy maple wings and Thai peanut wings. An order of wings is around $12 and you get about a dozen. Head up there and enjoy the sunset. Jolly Roger bar is a big ex-pat hangout also. So if you want to talk football it is the place to go. Just don’t say anything bad about the Pittsburgh Steelers. The owners are Steelers fans and Jolly Roger is a great place to watch the games. Say hi to owners Storm and Amy when you stop by.
